EVENT 8TH EUROPEAN MUSEUMS NIGHT

Saturday19May2012

At the Musée de la Grande Guerre – Guided visits to the temporary exhibition and jazz concerts
Admission free
On Saturday 19 May,the Ministry of Culture and Communication invites you to the 8th edition of European Museums Night, during which museums reveal and share their innermost secrets. Music, theatre, gastronomy, games and cinema – all the arts join hands and take over the museum all the better to highlight its contents. Night-time casts its spell,an invitation to dream. Museums outdo one another in the imaginative ways they transmit the pleasure to be had from visiting them and their collections. A range of remarkable, original, festive and poetic events for one and all is on the programme.
This year once again, over 3000 museums throughout Europe are answering the call, all of them opening their doors at the same hour to welcome the many Europeans who now regularly attend the event.
A number of partners are adding further life to this fabulous Night, ensuring encounters as surprising as they are unexpected, including the different perspectives of art historians and specialists in the realm of space, proposed by the National Space Studies Centre’s Space Observatory, and a selection of films from the collection of the National Centre for Cinema and the Animated Image,“CNC – Images de la Culture”.
