GOOD REASONS TO VISIT
Turn back the clock to 1870 in order to understand the situation before war broke out. Then dive into the heart of the 1914-1918 period: join the soldiers leaving for the front, look at the reconstructions of the trenches and the French and German shelters, learn about the soldiers’ daily lives during the conflict... Rare and impressive collections: a Blériot XII-2 plane, a SPAD XIII plane, a Parisian taxi, two Berliet trucks, one of which is a pigeon fancier truck, a LATIL gun tractor, artillery, an FT tank and close to 200 uniforms...
3000m2 to explore in order to understand the origins of our modern world!
You’re allowed to touch!
See, hear, touch, handle... There are several multimedia exhibitions along the route: Projections of archive and fictional images, trench reconstructions... There are lots of things to see but also touch! Find Léon in order to discover a “poilu’s” (French equivalent of a Tommy) from 1915. Lift up his kit and the materials which should transport you to the daily grind. In each area, you’re allowed to touch war items from the time: helmets, jerry cans, mess tins, shells, etc.
Activities for all the families
The museum is accessible to people of all ages and offers tools and activities adapted for all the family: child zones, activity booklets, audio guides, workshops, etc.

The French troops need to go and face them. It’s the first Battle of Marne, the Allies’ first decisive victory. More than one hundred years later, this area still remembers!
